Refrigeration is both ubiquitous in our world and indispensable to our society. The Covid 19 pandemic that we have been experiencing since the beginning of 2020 has clearly shown this. But this very useful refrigeration is also a major energy consumer and contributes significantly to the greenhouse effect. In the 21st century, refrigeration will either be sustainable or it won’t be! This is why the organizing committee has decided to organize this congress under the theme “Towards efficient, controlled and smart Refrigeration”
The International Congress of Refrigeration 2023 is the world’s largest gathering of scientists, experts, technicians and professionals in the field of refrigeration and air conditioning. It provides a unique forum to present and disseminate the results of research, development and innovation.

Cooling and refrigeration are crucial for our health, nutrition, comfort, and well-being. This sector contributes significantly to safeguard the environment, advance welfare of humanity and support the growth of employment and economics worldwide.
Women engagement in this sector is either under-represented or unrecognized around the globe despite of the high potential that can be unleashed by encouraging women to pursue education and job opportunities in cooling. This workshop will explore the role of women in promoting and developing sustainable cooling in different world regions. It will showcase women’s experience working in the sector and demonstrate what can be achieved when women are empowered to make a difference.
